ThermDAC Control Software
ThermDAC is a Windows-based application providing full device control,
fault detection, data logging and analysis capabilities.
Manikin system configuration and calibration can be carried out within ThermDAC.

Warranty and Service

Option

Sweating Skin System

Provides volumetric control of sweat rate, selectable by manikin zone or region. A network of pores over the surface of the manikin are spaced to uniformly deliver water to the skin surface, where a removable wicking fabric skin layer evenly.

Zone controllers within the manikin modulate the fluid volume and distribute it to pores on the skin surface. Using ThermDAC software, each manikin zone can be controlled to a specific flow rate set point. Flow rates can be adjusted at any time during the course of a test.

Motorized Walking Motion Stand

Roll-around stand with integrated winch for manikin transport, dressing, and posing. Provides a realistic walking motion for EN 342 testing, with speeds of 0-55 double-steps about 0-70 meters) per minute.

Significant design and engineering effort has been invested to ensure that Thermetrics’ line of thermal manikins can perform smooth, realistic walking movements as required for compliance with ENV 342.
The motorized walking motion stand supports the manikin (current design utilizes a post/hook at top of head) and includes motor and the quick-connect rod actuators needed to generate a walking motion. An integrated winch aids in lifting, dressing, positioning, and transporting the manikin.

External Breathing System

Newton’s breathing system consists of pneumatic cylinders that are cycled in and out by a linear actuator to replicate the cycle, frequency, and volume of human breathing.

• Adjustable variables include tidal volume (0.1-2.5 L), breathing rate (20-40 cycles/min.), and I:E ratio (1:5)

User-adjustable variables allow full breathing control, while our ThermDAC control system automatically monitors test inputs and adjusts the motion of the air cylinders accordingly. An innovative breathing manifold in the manikin head permits in/out breathing through the nose (left/right), mouth (top/bottom), or any nose/mouth combination. An aerosol or particulate filter can be included.
The system can be configured for heated, humidified breathing, or as a non-heated, non-humidified system with aerosol/particulate filter for air contamination research.
